Description
"AGN feedback" -- the cumulative effect of energy released by material accreting onto a supermassive black hole on its local and "global" surroundings -- is a critical ingredient of models for the formation and evolution of galaxies. However, the variety of physical mechanisms by which energy released in the central parsecs impacts material thousands to millions times further away are poorly understood, let alone how it depends on the properties of the AGN and host galaxy. To better understand this process, we have begun an intensive study of galaxies with AGN-powered outflows ranging from pc to kpc scales. In this poster, we will present the initial results of our multi-scale multi-wavelength investigation of AGN powered outflows (MMIAO) project, as well as future directions.
