20-24 March 2023
Haus H, Telegrafenberg
Europe/Berlin timezone

Contribution Types

The conference will feature the following types of presentations (time for presentation + time for questions):

  • Invited Review Talks (30+10 minutes)
  • Invited Topical Talks (20+5 minutes)
  • Contributed Talks (12+3 minutes).
  • Posters (with 1-2 minute short poster presentation and option to provide a video recording presenting the work)

Talks

The talks will be presented both in person at the conference venue and via Zoom to remote participants. Questions and answers will be managed in a dedicated Slack channel for each talk session, so that discussion can continue in the following hours and days. We do not discriminate between virtual and in-person talks, so all remote participants will be able to present their work during the conference via Zoom.

We recommend that you prepare your slides in 16:9 format (but 4:3 is fine, too). Presenters can either load their slides onto our presentation laptop (MacBook, capable of displaying pdf, Keynote, and PowerPoint presentations), or if they prefer to use their own laptop they can share their slides directly via Zoom (as to be done by remote presenters).

Posters

Posters will have their own Slack channel as well, where both the pdf and a short video presentation will be uploaded already a week before the start of the symposium. This is to ensure that all participants can actively join and interact with the presenters, both remotely and in-person. We will dedicate a space at the venue to hang the posters (and print the ones of remote participants) and reserve some time during the conference for short poster presentations. Coffee and lunch breaks are planned long enough to encourage interaction with the posters. We ask all participants who present posters to submit both a phd of their poster, and the optional short video (3-5 minutes max) by Monday, March 6, 2023.

The poster walls can accommodate posters with dimensions of up DIN A0 (ca. 85 x 120 cm, portrait orientation)

Discussions

The Slack platform will also be used to encourage discussion among the participants both present and online through different channels, and we will reserve some room to create space for hybrid casual chatting and small group calls.
