Description

The improved High-resolution Fast Imager (HiFI+) completed commissioning and science verification at the 1.5-meter GREGOR solar telescope in March 2022. HiFI+ delivers diffration-limited observations in six wavelength bands, i.e., Ca II H, G-band, blue continuum, broad- and narrow-band Hα, and TiO, at a cadence of 6 s and 12 s. We report on the 2022 observing season and demonstrate the science capabilities of HiFI+. The Fast Multi-Line Universal Spectrograph (FaMuLUS) camera system was commissioned at the echelle spectrograph of the Vacuum Tower Telescope (VTT) in 2022. The instrument provides a spectral resolution above R = 500000 and a field-o-view of 120″ × 220″, which can be scanned in about one minute with a plate scale of 0.36″ per pixel. We present the modes of FaMuLUS for on-disk and off-limb observations and initial results of its performance. Science verification of FaMuLUS is scheduled for 2023 so that it will be available for observations in 2024.
