Software challenges in fully autonomous observatories
Rather early it became clear that STELLA will be in fact two telescopes: One dedicated to high-resolution spectroscopy and one dedicated to high-precision photometry. For the software model, this fostered the idea of creating a generic framework applicable to almost any robotic telescope project and implementing the two STELLA telescopes as the first concrete examples. In this talk I will pave the way from design principles to concrete implementations, encouraging people to adopt this framework and use the available building blocks to realize their own projects.
