Potsdam is a beautiful city, full of history, parks, and many many palaces! It has the highest number of Palaces per inhabitant in Germany. Prussian kings created here a fascinating retreat comprising palaces and parklands, and many areas were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1990.
Parks
- Sanssouci -- Home of Frederick the Great’s summer residence, this little Versailles will amaze you with its style and elegance. The park is free to enjoy, tickets for the palaces can be found at sanssouci.
- Neuer Garten -- This park is not only for nature lovers, with its beautiful paths along the lakes, but also a historical landmark with its many palaces including Cecilienhof, where the Potsdam Conference ending the Second World War was held in 1945.
- Babelsberg -- Great park along the Havel, with many golden spots and palaces.
- Pfingstberg & Alexandrowka -- Amazing viewpoint on the highest hill of the city right above the Russian Quarter.
